Education
bilingual

Colégio Europa, always innovating, is the only school in Pouso Alegre that has a systematized bilingual program in the teaching format of a school that seeks to train citizens capable of communicating in two different languages. In this case, Simple, our partner, has a bilingual methodology with English as a second language. This formatting follows some parameters defined by the MEC :

Interdisciplinarity

To be bilingual, the school needs to understand that English is the medium of learning. Therefore, it is necessary to offer content from other subjects (Mathematics, Geography, etc.) also in English. In other words, regular English classes + classes on other content in English, essential items for Colégio Europa.

Greater workload

For Colégio Europa, one of the strengths of the bilingual system is its workload. According to MEC guidelines, it is necessary for the student to have greater exposure to the content of the target language, thus making it possible to acquire fluency or mastery of the language, with this at each stage of the process the workload is increased, providing more interaction with the English language, bringing a difference to the daily lives of students and parents.

We adopt a hybrid methodology

Our approach is influenced by different teaching methods. This allows us to better adapt to the new demands of education, which focus on the student's protagonism and their human and social formation. Understand more:

Focus on

Language

Focusing on oral skills, we teach English in a contextualized way, with constant exposure to the language, so that learning happens organically, just like the acquisition of the mother tongue.

Encouraging communication

By encouraging communication and speaking, we encourage students to interact and gain confidence in practicing the language. Grammar is improved by the teacher, but it is not prioritized.

Practical approach

Practical activities, exercises and audiovisual resources are used in the classroom so that the student understands the meaning of each word and builds their grammatical knowledge through repetitions.
